If you are an avid gamer, I’m sure you’ve at least heard of, if not read Ernest Cline’s 2011 sci-fi novel, Ready Player One.
The book is about a teenager’s quest to a fortune based in a future world, where virtual reality games are a means of taking a break from the fast crumbling real world. The book has a good dose of video game references from the 80’s.
With the launch of Ready Player One’s movie trailer, the book is in news again. The project, produced by Warner Bros. and directed by Steven Spielberg, is set to hit movie theatres in March 2018.

Ready Player One QR Code
One piece of news about the trailer has us really excited. The makers of the movie have snuck in a QR Code in the trailer.
Discovered by one Mary Anne Butler, the QR Code appears on the bonnet of a car at 2:03 in the trailer.
When scanned, the QR Code directs the scanner to an official website of the film. The page displays a poster with the heading—Join the Quest and Innovative Online Industries. In the book (and the movie) Innovative Online Industries is the largest internet service provider.
