Verizon

Campaign Objective
To showcase 5G capabilities and engage users through a location-based AR game tied to an iPhone launch
Campaign Story
Verizon set up signs with QR codes in geofenced areas of Chicago, LA, Miami, NYC, and Seattle. Scanning one dropped users into a 3D AR “metaverse” world (with art by FriendsWithYou and music by Halsey) where they searched the environment for a hidden number 13. Finding it and tweeting a screenshot could win a free iPhone 13
Execution
Planted QR code posters at high-footfall city spots
Scanned codes opened a WebAR world overlaid on that location
Players who found the virtual “13” and shared it online entered a new iPhone drawing
Campaign Success
Not reported (high engagement reported around launch)
